First Step Session

Try a First Step Session (previously called One at a Time)

A quick way to talk to someone when you need support sooner.

Right now, there's a long wait for counselling, and sometimes you need support before you reach the top of the list.

A First Step Session gives you the chance to talk to a counsellor quickly - usually within two weeks - so you don't have to wait to get support.

Whether you want a one off conversation or you think you may want more sessions later, you can choose what feels right for you. You decide what you want to talk about, what you're comfortable with, and what happens next.

It's completely normal to have questions before booking. Many young people wonder what a First Step Session is and how it works, so we've answered some of the most common questions to help you feel more confident and prepared.

Reaching out can feel like a big step, but we're here to listen and help you take that first step forward.

How do I book a session?
